Lydia Circle
Making and Multiplying Growing Disciples

 Making Women Disciples
Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples…”

Lydia Circle teaches women how to evangelize to women in their own families, in their churches, and in their villages.  Tools are given to each pastor wife or leaders’ wife who attend a Lydia Circle conference.  They are required to first teach their families how to use the tools and then to approach an unbeliever and use the tool to teach the good news of Jesus Christ.

Multiplying Women Disciples
2 Timothy 2:2, “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men (women) who will be able to teach others also.”

Lydia Circle helps women to make a plan to teach and pass on the training to many women within their own churches.  We do this through emphasizing small group study with 3-4 women in their circle of influence.  This allows the leaders to have a close relationship with each woman; it stresses accountability and confidentiality where life change can happen.  These transformed disciples can begin their own groups, therefore multiplying themselves many times over.

Growing Women Disciples
Ephesians 4:15, “…we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.”

Lydia Circle emphasizes the importance of spiritual growth in the life of every woman.  Each woman needs to spend time in prayer, study, and solitude with her Savior every day.  Our conferences teach women how to study the Bible, memorize scripture, the difference between the Old and New Testament, and what the fruit of the Spirit should look like in a believer’s life.

Lydia Circle Conferences of 2012
We held nine conferences in Malawi, and one conference in
Tanzania this year.
460 women attended the conferences over our 4-week conference schedule.
We are truly blessed by God’s provision for these women.  Many of the women walk up to 60 Kilometers to attend a conference in a rural church and stay overnight at the church so that she will not miss any of the teachings.  When we send them out at the end of the conference, she is ready with tools, Bible study methods and prayer support from the women who have learned alongside of her.
We have been encouraged by the reports from previous conferences of women starting their own Lydia Circle groups.  In our conference in Nkotakota, Malawi this year, a woman who attended the 2011 conference in Mchinji, Malawi, brought two of her disciples along.

Our goal is to not hold church conferences, but to teach the pastor wives and leader’s wives of each Bible believing church in the Hope Builders Hub System so she can become a spiritual leader with her husband in the church God has called them to.
