Paalman Ministry Support

Paalman Family

Carl and Ilne Paalman with their four children- Rashelle, Tim, Simon and Isabel serve in the Mazabuka district in Zambia. They have been following the call of God in many places: first to Mercy Ships in West Africa, then to an orphanage in Liberia, West Africa, then to a house of safety for children at risk in South Africa and for the last 3 years on the Nongo Farm in Zambia with Hope Builders Ministries Zambia.

Partnering together with HBMZambia they have converted the old school building into their home from where the Agricultural Training and Dignity Project is stimulated. A well has been dug, a vehicle provided and gardening to train locals how to improve the soil and their farming skills, towards better crop yields, has started. As part of the goal we want to establish a ministry to orphans and widows through the local churches established by HBMZ.

As a family, they are supporting this ministry by teaching Conservation Farming and other techniques which help the HBMZ pastors and churches to care for themselves and the vulnerable in their congregations and communities.

Carl was born in the small town, Rijssen in eastern Holland, the youngest of 11 children. He worked in many different capacities in his local community, as well as as volunteer fireman at the local emergency services. Following his compassionate heart he joined the Mercy Ships ministry vessel in West Africa for a four year outreach - he started out in the maintenance team and finished in the community development team-building drilling water wells.

Ilne was born and educated in South Africa and served as the surgical nurse on the African Mercy, the hospital ship that Carl was also on. They were married in 2007 and since then have built/managed an orphanage in Liberia, served in a house of safety for infants born to drug addicted mothers/abusive parents.

Today Carl and Ilne serve together developing the Agricultural Training program in Mazabuka, Zambia.

The Paalman family oversee the operations of the Nongo Farm training locals in better farming methods and also supporting widows and orphans through the local Dignity Project with HBMZambia
