Hope Builders Ministries' (HBM) global mission is to reach the world for Jesus Christ in fulfillment of our Lord's Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Since 2001, HBM has instructed over 25,000 Christian leaders to faithfullly create disciple-makers in their own communities, distributing over 600,000 Bibles to Christ's disciples in many countries.

Our major strategy involves partnering with indigenous peoples who are uniquely gifted (they speak the local language, understand cultural pitfalls and are accepted as leaders within their communities) to reach their own people group with the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ, the free gift, Eternal Life (Acts 1:8).

Our program is focused on equipping, empowering and encouraging faithful Christian leaders in Africa and India. It has achieved results that are well beyond our own expectations and can only be attributed to God's great grace.

In Africa, we are currently working in Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of the Congo; in India we are in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.  HBM has also proudly partnered with other ministries to make disciples in the Republic of Congo, Botswana, Tanzania, Liberia, Sierra Leon, Rwanda, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Haiti, and Turkestan.

The One on Three Disciple-Making Model

The "One on Three Disciple-Making" strategy is the basis of our entire ministry partnership with indigenous church leaders. HBM imitates our Lord's model of small group disciple-making with his own disciples, especially Peter, James, and John (e.g. Paul, with Timothy, Titus, Mark). This is also seen in Paul's instruction to Timothy, "The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2). We believe that the key to multiplying disciples is simple. One faithful person must teach others our Lord's Great Commission by practicing it: pouring his or her life and everything he or she knows about the Word into a small group of other faithful Christians. These small groups become "incubators" in the local church and growth in Christ is accelerated.

This Biblical discipleship strategy is working! In this year alone, HBM is projected to equip as many as 10,000 church leaders to make disciples, reaching communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over Africa and India.

How it Works: The One on Three Disciple-Making Model in Action

  • HBM staff equip small groups of faithful church leaders in Africa or India in the fundamentals of the Bible, faith and being witnesses of Christ (disciple-making).
  • An equipped, local pastor or church leader is empowered and encouraged to disciple three to five key leaders in his own church (his family, elders, deacons, youth leader) using the Bible, evangelism tools, and discipleship materials provided.
  • These Disciples, in turn, disciple three more church members to build up people in their sphere of influence. Fundamentals of our Biblical faith and growth in Christ are shared so that they in turn teach 3 others . . .
  • In this way, churches are edified from top to bottom, disciple-makers are multiplied, and whole communities are reached and saturated with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This process creates self-sustaining churches which are strongly rooted in Biblical faith and practice. By executing the One-on-Three Disciple-Making Strategy, the Church does what it is called to do - Producing Producers (Ephesians 4:12).
